The process of dyeing using natural materials is fascinating in its complexity and unexpectedness. See the Gallery for projects completed using yarns dyed with natural materials, such as cochineal, indigo, walnuts, local plants, onion skins, weld, etc. I teach dyeing with Debbie MacCrea; between us we have some 50 years’ experience with the dye process, knitting, weaving, spinning and other fiber arts. Our schedule varies, but we can now offer one, two or three day workshops at my studio in Alfred. 2008 Rug hooking fabric dye workshop, dates TBA 2007 October Dye Day, Southern Tier Fiberarts Guild, Alfred, NY September Finger Lakes Fiber Festival, Hemlock,NY August Natural Dyes History & Technique, Finger Lakes Handspinning Guild, Victor, NY July Finger Lakes Fiber Tour, Watkins Glen, NY Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association,, Scranton, PA May Buffalo Weavers Guild Workshop, Amherst, NY Bakers Bridge Historical Association, Alfred Station, NY
